About us
KVENORSKALY Adventures AS was established in March 2006. Our base is Skjervøy in Northern Norway, which is the home port for our boat fleet. Our chief guide, Holger, has nearly 10 years’ experience as a nature and fishing guide in the Kvænangen-Lyngen area. We follow the National Geographic Society’s definition of “geotourism”, which means we utilise the nature but not damage
it, we involve the local population and the local economy benefits and we show local species and history from this area.
As one example we have a close co-operation with Skjervøy Vidregående Skole (High School). We run a special course on coastal tourism. The students join us on trips and learn about nature-based tourism. We use local residents as guides on virtually all our tours (Spildra, Jøkelfjord, Reisadalen, Maursundgård, Havnes and on fishing trips). Our guests stay at accommodation offered by local providers (Hotel Maritim, Tyrolerhus Jøkelfjord, Skjervøy Fiskecamp, Reinfjord, Arnøy, Segelvik, Hamneidet, and Reisadalen). We are not a tour operator. We see our company as a supplier of products to tour operators, companies, individuals or private groups.
All our boats and other equipment are certified, while all our guides are certified and have undergone training in safety and first aid. We place considerable emphasis on customer service and make this a requirement for all our collaborating partners. We don’t claim to be the cheapest option. However, we do claim to have invested considerable time, energy and funds on safety equipment, routines and certification of boats and equipment, as well as adapting and testing out our various trips.
Safety and service are our top priorities.
We hope to meet you and your friends and colleagues here in Skjervøy, and we
would like to take this opportunity to wish you a pleasant and safe trip.
